Cats the Musical  returns to London for a strictly limited run this summer, before embarking on a UK tour. This brand new staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony and Olivier-winning musical about the rhymes and rituals of a group of mischievous cats comes to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

From the Euston Station to the hidden corners of Victoria Grove, the strays, dreamers, and rebels of the city come together under the shimmering moon for the most magical night of the year - the Jellicle Ball. Each cat tells their story, each one daring to ask the same question: who will be chosen to journey to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a new Jellicle life?

  • Cats premiered at the New London Theatre in 1981, where it ran for 21 years!

  • The musical was nominated for six Olivier Awards, taking home the prize for Best New Musical and Best Achievement in a Musical for Gillian Lynne.

  • Cats made the leap to Broadway in 1982, where it ran for 18 years. It won 7 of the 11 Tony Awards it was up for, including; Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction of a Musical, and Best Costume Design.
