We travel from Portsmouth by Hovercraft to Ryde on the Isle of Wight. The hovercraft service takes just 10 minutes. We then have time to explore the vibrant seaside town of Ryde. With its long sandy beach, Victorian Pier and lively town centre offering independent shops, cafes and historic buildings, Ryde is a lovely place to spend the day.
We spend the morning in Broadstairs, a seaside town full of nostalgic, old-world, seaside charm, relaxed and unspoilt. We move on this afternoon to Captain Digby’s Pub, situated on the clifftop overlooking Kingsgate Bay, we enjoy a lovely 2-course pub lunch.
We spend the morning in Rye, Perhaps grab a bargain in the weekly outdoor market. Ryes large outdoor market lies at the foot of the beautiful ancient town. With over 100 stalls selling clothes, food, toys and household goods. We then move onto the seaside town of Hastings for the afternoon.
