Charlie & The Chocolate Factory - The Musical

 

A new production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will open at the London Coliseum for a strictly limited run from 4 June 2027 through 18 September 2027.

 

Olivier Award winner Michael Ball will star as Willy Wonka in the production. His other theatre credits include his Olivier-winning turns in Sweeney Todd and Hairspray, where he starred as Edna Turnblad in the original West End company, as well as Les Misérables – The Staged Concert, Chess, Mack and Mabel, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Based on the novel by Roald Dahl and the film, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows Charlie Bucket as he goes on the adventure of a lifetime after finding a golden ticket that gives him access to Wonka's extraordinary chocolate factory.

Accessibility

The London Coliseum main entrance is located on St Martin’s Lane. There is step free access into the main foyer, the Stalls and the Stalls bars via a ramp.

All levels in the theatre can be reached by stairs or via two customer lifts, including one in the main foyer, which can take patrons to all levels of the auditorium, excluding the Upper Circle. All bars are accessible via the lift.

 

There is level access to Row O of the Stalls. Transfers are available into any level access aisle seat. Boxes D-L are all level access, with Boxes E-F reserved specifically for wheelchair users and their companions.

 

The Dress Circle can be accessed via 30 steps up from the foyer. Alternatively, a customer lift is available to take patrons up to this level. There is level access to Row K of the Dress Circle.
