Day 1 - Sunday:
We depart from Kent this morning and travel to Devon. Arriving late afternoon at The Royal & Fortescue Hotel in Barnstaple for our 4 nights stay. Enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival.
DDay 2 - Monday:
Our first stop this morning is the picturesque resort of Lynmouth where we have time to explore the narrow streets and maybe take the cliff railway to the twin village of Lynton. From here we make our way through scenic ‘Little Switzerland’, as the region is known, to the lovely village of Dunster, with its famous castle and octagonal Yarn Market. Later, we head to the popular seaside resort of Minehead. Our return takes us through Exford and the Exmoor National Park.
B, DDay 3 - Tuesday:
Today is Barnstaple Market Day and we have the morning free to explore the town with its elegant Georgian buildings. This afternoon, we visit the ancient seaport of Bideford, delightfully set on the banks of the River Torridge.
B, DDay 4 - Wednesday:
This excursion takes us to the Victorian seaside resort of Ilfracombe, known as the jewel in the North Devon Coast. Discover a quaint quayside and harbour, whitewashed villas, lovely beaches, coastal paths, and an abundance of cafes and shops.
B, DDay 5 - Thursday:
After breakfast, we head home.

The Royal & Fortescue Hotel
The Royal & Fortescue Hotel is situated in Barnstaple town centre. Formerly a coaching inn, this historic and traditional market town hotel earned its present title after patronage by King Edward VII. The hotel offers modern facilities while retaining its charm and character. All bedrooms are ensuite with television, telephone, hairdryer, and tea & coffee-making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
