Day at leisure in Ryde
Day 1 - Monday:
We complete our pick-ups this morning and travel to Portsmouth to catch our ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight. Arriving at The Royal Esplanade Hotel in Ryde, we are welcomed with tea & coffee as we check in.
DDay 2 - Tuesday:
This morning, we head towards Bembridge, stopping at the Donkey Sanctuary on route. Spend some time here discovering the history behind the Donkey Sanctuary and how it was founded in the 1980's. Meet a few furry friends and enjoy a delicious snack from the café on site. We continue on to Bembridge, where you will have time at leisure to explore the quaint coastal village.
B, DDay 3 - Wednesday:
Today, after a leisurely breakfast we’ll take a scenic drive to the famous Needles Landmark Attraction. Here, you can watch the skilled craftsmen produce beautiful and unique glassware at the Alum Bay Glass Shop. Other attractions include the iconic Needles Chairlift, the Sand Shop and Isle of Wight Sweet Shop as well as the Tea Room onsite, for a spot of lunch. We return to resort for an afternoon at leisure.
B, DDay 4 - Thursday:
Today is at leisure in the bustling resort of Ryde, with a traditional pier and promenade, boutiques, great cafes and restaurants. The railway and bus stations are both close by in case you want to explore the island for the something a little different. Perhaps even hop on the unique and amazing hovercraft service which can whisk you across the Solent to Southsea in just 10 minutes!
B, DDay 5 - Friday:
Sadly, it’s time to head home.

The traditional, Victorian Royal Esplanade Hotel enjoys a superb seaside location close to the promenade in the heart of the lively resort of Ryde, just a short walk from the centre of town. The 70 bedrooms are well-decorated and offer a mix of styles with excellent bathrooms. The restaurant and bar offer attractive décor and comfortable seating areas and there is a large entertainment lounge and a small rear outdoor terrace.

Please be aware that this hotel does not have ramp or flat access to the front of the hotel and has 6 unavoidable steps.
The hotel does not have any ground floor rooms and whilst there are rooms on the first floor (with lift access), it is only a small lift for 3-4 guests.
This hotel is not suitable for mobility scooters, as they are too large to fit in the lift and will be unable to move around the hotel in general.
