Edinburgh Tattoo

Day 1 - Thursday:

Your holiday begins as we travel north to the Shap Wells Hotel, beautifully situated in the Cumbrian countryside. After checking in, relax and enjoy dinner before preparing for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2 - Friday:

After breakfast, we continue north into Scotland, making a stop to visit the Kelpies and marvel at the largest equine sculptures in the world, standing at 100 feet tall. We then travel the short distance to the Leapark Hotel for our three-night stay. Arriving in the afternoon with time to check in and settle into our rooms before dinner.

Day 3 - Saturday:

Following a leisurely breakfast, we make our way to Scotland's magnificent capital, Edinburgh. Enjoy free time to discover this fascinating city at your own pace. Wander the historic Royal Mile, browse the many independent shops and cafés, explore the elegant Princes Street Gardens or perhaps visit the iconic Edinburgh Castle, perched dramatically on its volcanic rock overlooking the city. Dinner is not included this evening, giving you the opportunity to enjoy one of Edinburgh's many restaurants before taking your seat for the world-famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, this unforgettable performance brings together military bands, pipers, dancers and performers from across the globe in a breathtaking display of music, precision, pageantry and fireworks. It's an experience you'll remember for years to come.

Day 4 - Sunday:

This morning, we make our way to the Falkirk Wheel - the world’s only rotating boat lift. Now, one of Scotland’s busiest tourist attractions, attracting around 500,000 visitors each year, The Falkirk Wheel links the Forth & Clyde Canal to the Union Canal 35 metres above, allowing vessels to sail through the sky thanks to a unique fusion of art and engineering. This afternoon, we head to Stirling for time at leisure to obtain lunch and explore. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Highlands', Stirling is rich in history and offers an excellent selection of shops, cafés and traditional pubs. You may wish to visit the magnificent Stirling Castle, one of Scotland's grandest castles, or simply soak up the atmosphere of its charming old town before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 - Monday:

After breakfast, we begin our journey south to Yorkshire for our return overnight stay at the Cedar Court Bradford Hotel.

Day 6 - Tuesday:

Following breakfast, we continue our journey home, arriving back in Kent with wonderful memories of Scotland's spectacular scenery, historic cities and the unforgettable Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
