Visit to Brixham
Day 1 - Monday:
We depart Kent and travel to Paignton for our 4-night stay at the Mercure Paignton Hotel.
DDay 2 - Tuesday:
Today is at leisure in Paignton. It’s up to you how you spend today. Devon’s 18th century Paignton Harbour is a real maritime gem with a bevy of boats, a historic harbour wall plus delightful restaurants and cafes where you can sample the famous local fish or try some tapas. The promenade is a great place to sit and watch the world go by.
B, DDay 3 - Wednesday:
Today we visit Brixham. Life in the busy Devon fishing town of Brixham has always centred around the harbour, where heritage trawlers jostle for space with dayboats heading out to sea for the day’s catch, bringing it home daily to Brixham’s famous Fish Market. Here, in the heart of England’s Seafood Coast, the freshest fish and most delicious seafood is on the menu everywhere.
B, DDay 4 - Thursday:
Today is at leisure for you to explore Paignton. Perhaps enjoy a day out on the steam train, running from Paignton Train Station, which takes you on a voyage of discovery along beautiful coves and beaches, over historic viaducts and along the River Dart to Kingswear. You can cross over to Dartmouth and take a scenic riverboat to visit Agatha Christie’s famous riverside residence at Greenway (now National Trust), but there are several route options available, which include a steam and cruise.
B, DDay 5 - Friday:
Sadly, it’s time to head home. We check out after breakfast.
