Day 1 - Thursday:
We depart Kent and make our way to Peterborough.
DDay 2 - Friday:
Rutland may be the smallest county in the UK, but it boasts a rich history! The pretty historic market town of Oakham is our first stop this morning. It’s home to an impressive Norman Castle and the Rutland County Museum, a treasure trove of captivating exhibits. We then head to Barnsdale Gardens, the UK’s largest collection of individually designed gardens, which was created by the much-loved late BBC Gardeners World presenter, Geoff Hamilton. Later, we enjoy a relaxing afternoon cruise on Rutland Water, one of the largest man-made lakes in Europe.
B, DDay 3 - Saturday:
Spend some time in Stamford this morning. 'The finest scene between London and Edinburgh' is what Sir Walter Scott said of Stamford, a Georgian town of immense charm with over 600 listed buildings, which has been used many times as a filming location. We then move on to Burghley House, which is one of the largest and grandest houses of the Elizabethan age.
B, DDay 4 - Sunday:
Today we visit historic Peterborough, where ancient heritage meets modern charm. Explore the magnificent Peterborough Cathedral, stroll through tranquil riverside parks and discover the city’s vibrant centre filled with shops, cafés and museums.
B, DDay 5 - Monday:
We depart our hotel this morning after breakfast and head home.
