Day 1 - Monday
We depart Kent and travel to Newcastle for our 4 night stay.
DDay 2 - Tuesday:
Today we visit Alnwick Garden, which is the inspiration of the current Duchess of Northumberland. This afternoon, visit neighbouring Alnwick Castle, made famous as a setting for the Blackadder series and Harry Potter films.
B, DDay 3 - Wednesday:
Today, we travel along George Wade’s ‘Military Road’ tracing the path of Hadrian’s Wall to Chesters Roman Fort, where we include admission. Part of Hadrian’s Wall, Chesters is the best preserved Roman cavalry fort in Britain. On then to the market town of Hexham for free time, followed by a stop in Corbridge with its boutique shops and cafes.
B, DDay 4 - Thursday:
Today we follow the heritage coast with an excursion to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, via the historic port of Amble, ‘the friendliest port’ and the southern gateway to Northumberland’s coastline and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. See the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory and the imposing Bamburgh Castle. Timings today are tide dependent.
B, DDay 5 - Friday:
Sadly, it’s time to head home.

The 4-star Holiday Inn Gosforth Park is a friendly, modern, contemporary style hotel set in 16 acres of land and conveniently located 7 miles north of Newcastle's vibrant city centre. It is well maintained and presented throughout. The 151 bedrooms are situated on ground and first floor are all very spacious, ensuite double/twin rooms. There is a lift to the first floor.
