Included:
Day 1 – Monday:
We travel North to our hotel
DDay 2 - Tuesday:
Today we visit Anderton Boat Lift Visitor Centre.
The astonishing Anderton Boat Lift is one of the Seven Wonders of the Waterways. One of only two working boat lifts in the UK, it moves boats between the Trent & Mersey Canal and the River Weaver Navigation about 50 ft below. It was built in 1875, to shorten journeys by cutting out the old route via the Bridgewater Canal. Boats were lifted up, two at a time, in giant tanks of water.
We include a Boat Lift & River Trip. You will also have time to explore the visitor centre and gift shop. We stop in the medieval market town of Nantwich. Stroll through the atmospheric streets and visit boutiques, antiques dealers and contemporary craft shops.
Day 3 - Wednesday:
Today is at leisure on resort. Take part in a Quiz, have a go at Archery, Croquet, Shuffleboarding or one of the many other activities available. Simply relax and unwind in the hotels spa and leisure facilities.
B, DDay 4 - Thursday:
Today, we head to Chester. The Chester city walls have stood since medieval times and still form an almost complete circle around the city. Venture within and you’ll find cobbled streets, a Roman Amphitheatre, a 1000-year-old cathedral, and of course the world-famous Chester Rows for shopping, dining and drinking.
B, DDay 5 - Friday:
It’s time to check out and head home, with suitable comfort stops on route.
